Product description
The cucullus of chaperon was already worn since the Bronze Age. This leather model is based on an original from the 2nd century AD. A similar fourth century original has been excavated on the North Scottish Orkney islands. The cucullus was frequently made of leather. It protected the wearer against the elements and was completely watertight. Tip: keep this cucullus watertight by treating it with Ballistol oil.
