This set consists of a gambeson hood and collar. Both are made of rough woven linen and have a padding of wool felt, with a cotton lining. Both can be tied together with leather laces. Gambeson parts like this were already worn in the High Middle Ages, several examples are depicted in the Morgan Bible and the Manesse codex.
